I've been around AU since April and I'm a little curious about where people live, so here's your chance.
I won't get specific, as I'm sure most of you won't, but this could be a good fact finding mission for most of us.
I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, California, USA. I don't agree with everything this area represents but I live here just the same.
I live with my wife, two kids, age seven and nine(they go to school at a fine arts magnet school in the area) and my wifes brother lives with us also. We enjoy Barbecues and trips to the zoo and beach. We have two cats a parakeet(budgey)and fish in two fish tanks.
I like to work with wood on my spare time as well as work in the yard. Some of my hobbies include: Computers, Model building, Model Rocketry design and building as well as digital photography.
I hope I bring a little bit of the human element to AU and I would like to know more about you.

Okay well here's a bit about me.
I joined in April myself, but in 2004. So I've already hit the year mark, how time flies.
I live in the Los Angeles area, California, USA. Born and raised in Southern California all all my life.
I just got married on February of 2005 and enjoying being a newlywed. My husband and I own a cat named Balrog, that is a demon in her own regards. But we love her.
My hobbies are drawing, tarot reading, roleplaying, video games, working at the Renaissane Faire, comics, sewing, painting, Star Wars Galaxies and too many other things that I tend to cram in the short days.

Hmm.. Well I'm an Australian.. I live in Adelaide, South Australa, which seems to be the boringest city in Australia! I'm 17.. and in last year High School and am hoping to go to Uni next year and study art and Indonesian.
I work at KFC.. have been there for 2 years.
For pass times I draw and paint, read and see friends. On weekends I like going to parties, or if there are no parties on I go to places in town with some mates.
I live with my mum, dad, and 2 younger sisters. Hehe.. My room is the coolest.. I have tiger posters all around it!
We live near the beach, our beach isn't that good. We use to have heaps of pets but they died over the years.. and now we only have a chicken, a few fish, and a black cat that has 3 legs, he is cool!
Anywho.. thats enough about me.. I'm not that interesting!
I've always wanted to visit Australia, hope to make it sometime. Boring or not, it's home, thanks for telling about it.

Dutchy girl over here! lol! Tomorrow I'll (finally..) turn 17. I live in this small town in Zeeland (part of Holland) quite close to the beach. The weather is horrible most of the time over here XD very rainy and stuff.. and when it finally gets warm it's only for a couple of days... like today, it's warm, but tomorrow it's gonna rain
Anyway... I live with my mom. Got a cat, her name is Kiara (but she only listens to Mimi... stupid cat XD ) It's a real 'hug'cat XD
I got one older brother, who's my bestest friend ever ^^ (never had any fights on whatsoever) He lives at my dad's. He got this really cool bearded dragon! His name is Spike ^^; And my dad has a lot of fishies and a bunn-eh (named Flappie XD ) XD
Well.. my greatest hobby is drawing I also love to photograph (although I'm better at drawing I think ^^; ) and watching quite a lot of movies ^^
I'm a LOTR freak (even know a bit of Elvish XD ) Got almost anything that you can get of it ^^;
I also totally love psychological thrillers and comedies

Happy birthday in advance, johnnehrulez!
I live in the middle of Sweden, on the countryside. We've got forest on three sides of the house and 15+ miles to the nearest town. I live with my mom and dad, a little brother, four cats and a german shepherd. My grandma lives nearby too, so she comes up to pester us once in a while
My hobbies include art (duh), animals, fiddling with my mom's lousy computer and singing. I'm in the swedish equivalent of high school now, and I'm in a school program where nearly all of the courses are in english. On top of that, I've got a long-distance relationship with an american guy, so I spend more than 70% of my time speaking english. It's getting to be a real problem lately, I keep forgetting words in swedish and replacing them with english ones.

thanks eiyela ^^
And I also go and replace a lot of dutch words with the english words XD both 'cause I talk quite a lot of english and 'cause I think Dutch kinda sucks XD

I was born in South Wales in 1941 - which makes me 64 on 7th September. My war-widowed mother married an Englishman shortly after WW2 ended, and we went to live in Manchester in the NW of England.
Except for a few years [college etc] I've lived in that area ever since. I was Welsh-speaking until I was 5 when I had to learn to speak English fluently.
I'm in my second marriage - 6 years in October - and my first ended [horrifically for me] after 15 years. However, I had three lovely children - two daughters: Rhiannon Myfanwy, Ceridwen Sian and a son Rhys Dylan. My son tragically took his own life four years ago at Christmas, aged 29. He had 'pretended' to be dying of cancer for a few months before this [it wasn't true, though there was no way to check], and during this period we had a lot of long talks. He was very concerned that I was too wrapped up in my work to the detriment of my own personal development, and brought me some of my early pictures and poems to 'start me off again'. Thus it is entirely due to the promise I made him that I began making poems, stories and pictures again. It's why I'm here on the net.
The work which so absorbed me? Two years ago I retired after 27 years as Head of a special school for children with learning difficulties and social/emotional problems. Now I use my time writing and picture-making as well as looking after various family members including my wife who has a chronic and severe back condition - meaning I do most of the housework [say Awww!] and lifting my step-granddaughter, Jasmine, when we look after her whilst my stepdaughter is at work.
I have four other grandchildren; Claire and James [Ceri's children] and Devran and Perisah [Rhian's children] Devran's and Perisah's father [Polat] is Turkish. Polat and Rhian own a ApartmentHotel in Turkey, [www.salhan.com if you're curious] although Rhian lives and works in the UK. An odd arrangement - but they're very happy together!

Thanks for the recent posts, I appreciate where everyone is coming from.
We all live very different lives and produce our own unique form of art, I feel very strongly, everything influences us and helps us grow and change.
I'm here as long as it's fun and I'm learning something, I hope I don't affend anyone or rush to judgement on anybodies labor.
Au is home to many good hearted people.

born and raised in the Twin Cities, Minnesota. I travel any chance I get. I have a house full of adopted/rescue pets... 3 cats and 10 lizards. I work in the medical field with Quality Control to support my art. I have a wonderful boyfriend who thinks I'm nutz LOL and one son who takes after his mother when it comes to a camera. All in all life is not too bad.

Nicely said Tam. I don't think you're really offending anyone. Unless I missed something.
And I agree, it's what we go through and what we are raised with that makes us unique individual artists.

seems this is the trend, so here I go:
I was born in Bosnia, Europe. Moved to Norway when i was six. Then moved to Australia when I was eight. Now I live in Brisbane, Australia.
I'm 17, last year of school. Most probably will head of to QANTM College and study Batchelor of Applied Multimedia - Graphic Design.
I go to the gym about 5 times a week, and like making wallpapers that just look good.
(I've been at it for 5 years).
*great beaches in Brissie*
P.S: I've been at AU since 2002. Long time.
WHOOOPEEE DOOO!?!?!
