I'm trying my best to save up for a Painter program. I downloaded the trail version and have officially fallen in love with it. I was wondering if anyone knew where I might get a relatively inexpensive copy of it. I'm willing to get and older copy too. Ebay's cheap copies are either academic versions or obviously bootlegs. (I'm trying to stay legal for once.  )
I'd appreciate any ideas. I'm starting to run out of them.

Hmmm, I have no ideas, but you've given me one. :D
You see, I use Corel PhotoPaint 8 which is essentially the original Painter program. Everyone seems to be head over heels in love with Painter (which is good I guess since my boys at Corel are getting their program up there with PhotoShop), but Painter is only PhotoPaint repackaged and updated a couple of notches.
Anyway, the idea you've given me is to use all of the different styles, techniques, and brushes in PhotoPaint to make more traditional looking pieces and show everyone that PhotoPaint and Painter are really the same program.

You know, liquidd is right! I've used both, and the difference is that you have to play around with the settings a bit more in photopaint to get it right. Photopaint is also better for editing photos.
