hey guys, i was just wondering if anyone could give me a few pointers on making fractal art and what programs u would use for it. im really interested, ive seen so many on the site and theyre all beautiful...i felt like making some fractal art too, i just have no idea how :|
any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm glad you like the fractals. they're fun! you can find the program for Apophysis, which is pretty user friendly with lots of good tutorials, at [ link ] There's a lot you can do with photoshop elements too, it's relatively inexpensive, and has every thing you need to do some trippy art. you first download and install Apophysis 2.02 [ link ]
and then you go to this site [ link ] and download "Apophysis205beta.exe",
copy the newly downloaded file into the directory where you installed Apophysis 2.02.

What, precisely, is a fractal?
A fractal is an image generated using mathematics. The term fractal describes a shape or object that looks like itself, even when divided into pieces. In nature, clouds, mountains, trees and coastlines are examples of fractals. Their structure is the same, or nearly the same, independent of the scale at which they are being viewed. These images represent a particular view and scale of a mathematical fractal structure or formula but, like the examples from nature, you will find similar structures as you zoom in or out of the display region.
How are our fractals produced?

yes, in fact i do have a cable connection Thunder7, if u wouldnt mind, i would love to take a look at your tutorial. i actually just got adobe photoshop and i was wondering if that would be of any use to making fractals....but i got apophysis so yeah....now im just hoping someone could tell me where to go from there...thanks a lot for ur help as well to hubbabub and rainyday
