the answer to this is probably obvious to everyone but me. I've been working with Adobe photodeluxe and I have some neat pictures but I don't know how to merge the layers so that I have just one layer. Help?

well.. I do know that it can be done in Photoshop. And since that's also an Adobe product, I think it's almost the same..
So this is where you can find it with Photoshop;
It can be done in 2 ways.
1: you can go to the layer panel and click on the little arrow on the above right side for more options, in there there's the option Merge Down or Merge Visible or Flatten Image. You can also go to the option Layer and then choose for Merge down or Merge Visible or Flatten Image.
2: Or you can simply use the key combinations Ctr+E (for Merge Down) or Shift+Ctr+E (for Merge Visible)
Hope I helped you
