Artist's Comment:
This is a painting I did a couple years ago, that was sold to a Native Art Gallery in Thunder Bay , Ontario. In the Native Culture, there are four main colors, directions, and winds... this painting is about a particular type of a' culturally controversial ' medicine people known to some as " The Backwards People "...these people are very powerful and have the talent and ability to bypass the traditional channels of Native medicine. Red, Black, Yellow, and White represent the four colors of the human race and the four main elements. The eagle above the shield carries prayers to the Creator and the four feathers below are of the grandfathers or " ANCESTORS". The medicine man in the shield is accompanied by "Thunderbird" in the sky while he gives tobacco as an offering to the Great Spirit.

This is very good and I like the idea of the meaning to the piece. Was the text painted on then or later using a PC......its quite hard to read. Good work though & well done
