Well done Tiger. Good use of color, and the sphere make this more interesting. Wonder what program you used?......
Why do I have to grow up? |

Alright, I'm not sure where to start. Let's start with that "ringed planet". Unless you're trying to go for a "fantasy" or "not realistic" space effect, then I'll suggest that you make the ring look of some other material rather than the same as the planet it's encircling. Plus if it's going to be something solid, and keeping in mind this is trying to be realistic I'm guessing, that any ring around any planet wouldn't just "place" itself neatly around the planet. Considering the way gravity works and all. But if it's going to be of a solid ring make it look more metalic or something that could resemble some sort of man made structure. The two spheres just kinda floating there seem like they were added in, because of the lack of attention on the space between the left and right side of your picture. Not only that, but there are reflections of light on the spheres, however there is no real correspondence of that same light having any sort of a coherent effect on that same "ringed planet". Besides, the light that is on the "ringed planet" looks more like a flashlight trying to spot something rather than some sort of star/sun shining upon the spheres, or planets...whatever. That assembly of junk on the right side I'm assuming is another "ring" that is around some planet we can't see. So with that in mind it kind of throws the whole picture off, because it seems more out of place. Not only that but something with an asteroid belt around it, or any "ring" of stuff around it wouldn't normally appear so big on another planet. I'm thinking if it did, gravity could have some adverse effect on it and kind of cause "accidentally" a really nasty meteor shower. The overall effect you have on the terrain of the planet "we" are viewing everything else from is good. But the closeness in which we're viewing the foreground terrain once more kind of throws the picture off it's real focus. Whatever it may be. So it'd probably be to your benefit to "mask" the detail of the foreground terrain, but nothing too fancy or over emphasized. I think you get what I mean. As for that ball of...whatever, that seems to be coming out of, or has landed on this planet "we" are on is just odd. Considering that we're still looking at this picture as if it's of reality. So this sphere of, what reminds me of the same affect oil has on water, is just so unnatural for space. Although looking it over I could make it out to be some multi-colored gas "escaping" the planet, but if that's what it's meant to be, then it needs more of a "gas" effect, rather than a physical sphere that has surface area and whatnot.
However in a fantasy/make believe way, this picture looks nice. Marbles in space with lollipop style planets, and vacuum cleaner dust assembled in ring form, with another crazy marble denting the surface of a cheese-like planet is wonderful.
But don't take anything I've said as if I've said it just because I'm being "mean". I'm just speaking from a critical sense...obviously, by how much I've typed. I hope it's somewhat helpful... |
