Nice mist effect and the water looks really nice. The planet in the background , although looks great, also looks like it is comming out of the water. Its a totally alien concept, but if its is meant like that then you achieved it very well. I do have one point to make though. Call it a tip. I have noticed a lot of people put stars in their scenes & combine the scene with a mist/nebula/or some sort of gas/atmosphere. The point is...where the gas or one of the above is thickest, then the lighting of the star would lessen. So the clear areas would have the brightest stars & the gas like areas would obscure the clouds & not vice versa. When you put stars over a cloud , you need to blur them out or use an undither tool of some sort, because the colours automatically overlay & compound the intensity. Good work

I agree and disagree about the stars theory. Sometimes the clouds are more like a hazey fog that still lets the light and near perfect visability of the stars. I live where light fog and light clouds are pretty common. Although the stars maybe could be lightened a tad for satisfaction to all.
On my not I like it jackie...Good job and congrats on the highlight.

Congrats on the highlight,X. Honneamise seems to have summed up all the points I may have touched on, but this is a truly nice piece.

Bah!
Now that you say it, the background planet does look funny. *chuckle* I've stared at this one so much for the past week or so that I eventually got to where I didn't see it any more. *grin* I'll have to take a step back for a day or so and see what I can do to fix it. Will look into the clouds/stars too! Not many of them that need to be fixed too terribly.
I'm still so new that I didn't even realize what a highlight was - lol. Thank you guys! |

I am much the same Xxtayce...I never see the pixelisation on my pieces until someone points them out. Where the stars are concerned..I agree Idream....but my point is that the lumination of the stars diminish when covered by haze, gas or clouds....not that they always disappear altogether
