No way. The structure and dimension on this is insane! You did far from doing a "really bad CG job". Believe me. This is beautiful

Not to be the hardass about this. But i think a lot more effort could have gone into this. The coloration of it is very simple, looks to all have been done with a Paint brush in Photoshop or Paint for that matter. Lacks detail. (Not to be a real mean ass) But i'm surprised this got featured, to be honest with my overall oppinion.
So, i am agreeing with what you had to say in the Artist's Comments area. It is not that great.

So much to say but ill just keep it short and say that i have to agree with caear 77. Sorry liz im sure your a great artist and all that but for this to be a feature!!!? cmon!

Uh, I'll try to be nice... I'll agree with rey and caear77... feature?! The drawing itself is okay. I'm not a fan of anime style. And for anime, this isn't very good. The CG looks like it had little effort. Maybe highlight depending on the day, but not feature. There are more deserving works out there.
Some things are meant to be left unsaid for our eyes speak for us when our mouths are dry of words.

I have to say that I love the character design and the emotion portrayed in this piece. Although, I agree that it is simple, lacks detail and rich coloring, and has a somewhat choppy cg job. But for sheer emotion brought to the character through his expression and posture, I would have recommended this for a highlight.
