Artist's Comment: A slight re-working of my photograph of a gargoyle urn found at the 'Huntington Library and Botanical Gardens'.
If you ever come to So Cal I highly suggest you visit here. It is the grand estate of the Railroad Tycoon, Huntington. He donated his home to the public after his death. The Library itself contains authentic pirate maps, first edition Shakespears (printed hundreds of years ago, an original bird study by Audubon A gigantic book, approx 5 feet tall by 2 1/5 feet wide!) and the original Guttenburg Bible (The very first book ever printed on a mechanical book press, dating back to the middle ages!!!). Also, there is some incrwedible Rts in the Gallery Building on the Estate, plus an entire building dedicated to the 'Arts and Crafts' movement in early 1900's architecture, with many example of Frank LLoyd Wright furniture and window screens, along with Greene & Greene furniture (including the dining room from the Gamble House, fully preserved and moved from the demolishion site to the museum).
This SoCal museum, along with the Norton Simon in Pasadena, are concidered 2 of the top 10 best museums in the entire world!!!

Wow, I wish I could be there for those museums! They sound like they have a whole load of intriguing anything to keep me occupied for quite some time! You should take some pictures if it's possible of some works they have there and send 'em to me or something. Well, either way, this picture alone of this gargoyle is exceptional. An excellent capture and resolution on this image. I'm not sure what you did to re-work this, but it seems that either way, no matter what you did it's still an excellent picture! I'd love to see more of what you're taking pictures of! |
