Brisk silence erodes at my tongue.
Sheepishly I let you escape
I am left desolate.

I never told you how I felt
that night
when your touch was like silk
against my face
and your kiss was new and fresh
upon my mouth.

You'll forget
and yet I'll remember
in my visions of black and white.

The well-executed mirror structure of the poem works so well to show the bittersweet nature of the subject.... there are always regrets about things left unsaid.
