Artist's Comment:
12" x 18" on drawing paper with charcoal, done for Drawing II class. It's a still life of a grecian bust and cloth.
*le sigh* Okay, the offical commentary: This is the HARDEST thing I've ever drawn. I struggled so much with this, and it took me much longer than I expected (about 16 hours). Something was wrong with the texture or tooth of the paper, so I couldn't blend as I wanted/am used to, and the charcoal just wasn't working with me some days.
What I like: the composition and the hair. What I don't like: it looks rushed in areas (because I was very tired during the last couple hours working on it), the teeth, and the cloth (which I had to make up, because the still life was taken down, and the photograph I had was really bad quality and I couldn't make out the folds).
I better get an A...
