here's the deal.
this is the 3rd oil painting i do, and so far i think its nice.
the project is as follows.
we choose 2 opposite colors, (blue, orange or purple, yellow or green, red).
+ black and white.
cause i like blue, and, cause i didnt have yellow, i had to choose it.
he told us to use the dark colors in the dark, and bright ones in the light.
so i used as u can see, wha t he told me, but i used black degrading to blue, in the background, to give it that dark feeling, plus a sudden change of brighr color in the bckground.
i see it good, so far, but i hope i continue well

The perspective isn't that great yet but you did a good job on the shading of the right vase. I know it's pretty hard to paint and I think you came out nice with the shadings here.

Just read you needed words to improve. Here are some:
- Look at the shadings. I see you use one lightsource with the light comming from the left. The right vase has a clear shadow. I however miss this shadow on the cube.
- The vase laying on the cube is kinda monotome colored. You might wanna change that.
- You should take a look at the perspective like I said before. It doesn't looks completely correct.

The one thing I was always taught, always try to avoid using black when shading. Blue is an excellent choice of colour to add shading, especially on highly polished surfaces.
If the blue you used was too light, then darkening it with black before shading would work I think.
Other than that , theres not much I would be able to say. I am far from being good with oils myself ..soz.
Keep it up & you'll get there. I certainly have come a long way in understanding different art since joining AU
I would blame the rip artists for the lack of votes, comments and ratings. |

I can't paint myself, but have studied it a bit. It's a great piece, but it's a little difficult to identify your light source. The grading is a little different on each item. Is it the background lightness or a source just off the foreground? Otherwise, nice range of colors and shape definition.

people, did u not read that its not finished?
i know, its still not a finished peice yet, it will take some more time.
and steve, thats not what he wanted us to do.
he wanted us to stay away from reality.
come on, there is no such looking tall glass like the onei did.
but hey, i, without being so proud, am the best one who painted in the lecture.
and, thats satisfying enough for me.
i dont mean to be aggressive, its that, u didnt get, what he was taeching us, thats all |

That's nice but the shadows could be better (will be better...I read it wasn't finished so..)
*A scream or a cry, the truth or a lie, I’m not sure they will save us this time. I don’t wanna be around when it all comes down to watch something beautiful die.* |
