The 3 C's at work (Canson, Crimson and Cardinal). I like this, but to be honest I think there is too much red (but that's just a personal opinion). And I don't quite understand the purpose of the black spot in the background (other than simply used as contrast to set the cardinal apart from the paper). Of course, I have to ask if you are from Kentucky. The cardinal is our state bird.

yeah youre right. the black spot is just so that you can see the bird's body and no Im not form Kentucky. Im from Cyprus ;0

beautifully drawn and shaded. perhaps, and mind you this is just a suggestion, you could make the black spot the sun? I dunno, I can't draw worth crap so I could be way off with that suggestion.

I had the same thought about the amount of red. But I like the experiment, you found a problem and worked with it, the spot helps. This is drawn very well.
