Artist's Comment: Pure Pencil Pushing 101
I came to realize when drawing this, I have been cheating myself the pleasure of fully shading my drawings for several months. This is mostly due to the way I color my images (if I color them), shading makes it harder based on the way I color my drawings in photoshop.
I did not set out to draw this picture, as it has been uploaded here. I started with an idea to fill the page with interesting things, using detail I enjoy coming up with, trying to be clever along the way. I was told by a teacher in a correspondance course many years ago, it is not important to be clever in your drawings. There were many thing I disagreed with him on, but decided ultimately it is my decision.
Please make any comment on this drawing that comes into your head, I may not have thought of it, I would like to grow.

I see where the shading with pencil & coloring with the tablet don't really work well together... and I love your creations, but I have to say that I sometimes feel cheated when a tam isn't colored. Your talent doesn't end with the pencil... you have a great sense of color as well. That being said... this is another uniquely imaginative tam! That's what I'm calling them now. LOL

If this is what flows out of your pencil at random, then I want to live in your head. There have got to be some amazingly fantastical cities in there, and this one, like your others, doesn't disappoint. I agree with tirzah that the shading isn't perfect, but the drawing wouldn't have been complete if you hadn't added it. Nice work!

nice one tam, it is truely another original impression on the state of your thinking, strange though I was thinking of a similar think only a day ago, no biggy, I'll have to do something else, or they'll say that we got something hitting off - maybe a AU takeover. no doubt you'll surprise us with the use colour. |
