Artist's Comment:
This piece was my assigned at-home painting from my Painting class last semester. I didn't quite follow the assignment to create a realistic scene, but I was asked to paint what is most important to me. One thing I place in high regard is allowing myself to be myself in all aspects, shapes, and forms and not hold back or form my personality to other's standards. I worked from both photographs and from a mirror. Needless to say, my professor, who is a realist, had to bite his tongue, but the class seemed to enjoy it. Oils, 20" x 20", roughly 10 hours.
