Artist's Comment: Its two in one, a nice cute picture of Krane now at age 43, 44 Mar 16, and when he was 5 :3 And now a profile that may be a little long, sorry.
Krane was born March 16, 1962, he was Joan and Julian Montgomery's third child and only son. He had twin sisters two years older than him. The Montgomery family lived in St. Augustine, Florida, near the shore, the beach was practically their backyard. When Krane was only three and a half when his life turned upside down. They were at a playground at a nearby park when it happened. Young Krane was kidnapped. The family was devastated at the loss of their child, police searched and his photo was plastered on flyers and milk cartons. But he was never found.
Muriel and Patrick Montgomery, relatives of Krane who were disliked and forgotten by the rest of the family, kidnapped him and took him up north to Chicago, Illinois, where they lived. They raised Krane as if he was their own child, they treated him well and were kind, and acted as his parents and took him through school and did everything a parent should. Young Krane though fell into a deep depression after they first brought him home. He didn't eat much and kept to himself, crying most of the time. He knew that these people weren't his parents but he didn't know what had happened to his mom and dad. He felt lost and extremely lonely. Krane didn't go out much in his childhood fearing that he would be taken again.
When Krane was almost a teen Patrick and Muriel told him he was adopted.
Krane hated Muriel, she was the exact opposite of his mother. She was not the least bit motherly, she was unkind, and she never touched him unless it was to punish him for misbehaving, she would also slap his hand when he tried to hug her. Muriel had strange beliefs and was very strict. Patrick was much kinder than Muriel but was a sportsman and always wanted Krane to share his love of sports, he would make Krane run and do exercises daily, which wasn't at all bad since he was rewarded with treats of different kinds, he just detested it.
In his childhood Krane developed a phobia of doctors and hospitals. It was a normal check-up before school started and Krane had wondered out of the waiting room while Muriel was filling out papers. Krane was terrified at the site of a horribly injured man getting wheeled into another room, the bedsheets, all of the bandages, just about everything was soaked in blood that the man had been vomiting up. The patient was wheeled by in slow motion before someone noticed the small boy and brought him back to Muriel. Krane was from then on terrified, in his young age he thought that the doctors had done something to him, and as he got older he distrusted doctors altogether believing that they murdered their patients.
