Artist's Comment:
A large moth, I think it's a Tulip-Tree Silk Moth, (not sure) mounted on an oval canvas. I took the shot on an angle. *shrugs* The background's done with watercolors, I tried to make it look like flowers, but then they're kinda "blurred" and what not. I put sparkly purple dust on the wings. Then theres a fake flower down on the bottom... So this way, she'll always be in flight after visiting a yummy flower. X3
I recently had this in a local art gallery, and one of the feelers fell off!!! I was so upset kuz i couldnt find it anywhere... maybe someone stole it. Anyways...
p.s.- I did not harm the moth in anyway. A co-worker found it last summer, (one of two I have) caught it, and gave it to me. Then it died like 2 days later. =(
He also caught me a bat but thats another story. Haha.
