Very cool work. Very Dali-esque, maybe Escher too. Lots too look at, yet very simple. I love this type of work. it's like an elaborated doodle (it's good thing, trust me on that one)

I can only imagine the time it took you to do this one. The buildings alone caught my eye as very detailed, then I looked at the roof tops, great work. |

i dont know if it was intentional but the lack of depth of field and perspective give it a pleasing sense of irony, the banality reminds me of Lowry. |

If you don't have a goal as an illustrator I suggest you should look into it, build a portfolio, your work is really good!

puts his fingers together in front of his face as if to squish the lil tiney peoples on the roofs.

dominos anyone?
no really though, this piece is amayzing! so much detail i can't even begin to imagine how long it probably took. and if it took you only a half hour don't tell us.. i'd cry.
seems to me pieces like such would only work as black and white. what do you think? perhaps you could try somthing smaller in color? try it out, could be interestin....

wow, great comments! thanks everyone...
brub, clearly Escher is a HUGE inspiration for my illustrating style. It's really interesting (to me at least) how my style has evolved on its own over the last 20 years or so. Whenever someone compares my stuff to Escher I get all warm and fuzzy inside...
tam, actually compared to some of my other illustrations, this was completed fairly quick (8 hours)
filedebop, yes, the wacky perspective was intentional. I was going for a chaotic foreground...
rainyday, it is my goal suprisingly! However, it doesn't pay the bills, so I'm a software engineer during the day, lol. Thanks for the comment!
thunder, thank you very much, that means a lot!
jeblmh, black and white is my preferred environment, but I have done some big color drawings/paintings.
